Wine company
Professionally formed with the experience of his family estate, in 1992, after having taken his wine-grower degree, he established his own estate. The owner's today greatest reason to be proud is the possibility to vint grapes exclusively grown in his own vineyards, which Massimiliano personally looks after.
These vineyards, having a total area of 13 hectares, lie in the two most renowned areas of Nizza Monferrato hills. They are mainly ancient grape varieties of Barbera, Moscato and Dolcetto d'Asti and Barbera del Monferrato. In the old vineyards the selection is natural, while for the new ones rigorous thinning is carried out.
Keeping an eye on the new technologies, but fully respecting the oldest peasant traditions, both Massimiliano and his wife Simona take care of their estate with enthusiasm and self-devotion, taking advantage of Roberto Olivieri's enological advice.
"Nizza Monferrato is a town rich in history and peasant traditions surrounded by hills particularly renowned for Barbera cultivation".
And it is just in this zone that finds the vineyards from which comes
the destined grapes to the production of wines of the Azienda Agricola
Massimiliano Vivalda .
Vineyards are worked essentially in full respect for peasant tradition: short pruning, natural fertilizers, environmental low impact treatments (in conformity with EEC regulation n. 2078) and rigorous thinning in order to get the best bunch of grapes without harming the grape variety.
